You have a choice of 3 walkers' events:
- 18 miles Torrisdale to Tayinloan, starting 11:00
- 22 miles Tarbert to Clachan, starting 07:30
- 31 miles Tarbert to Tayinloan, starting 07:30
This is not a relay and it is not a race. However you do need to be accustomed to doing 7-10 hours of continuous walking in hilly, off-road conditions.
You will probably want to walk with a group, either pre-planned, or by joining in with other people at the start.
What to bring:
- Map - Ordnance Survey Landranger 62/68 or Explorer 356/357
- Compass and whistle (in case mist comes down … path is sometimes indistinct)
- Windproof full body cover (because weather can change quickly)
- Mobile phone (but note: some places out of reception, depending on network)
- Water supply and food
Closing date for entries: Saturday 26 April 2008
Check-in/registration:
Friday 9 May, at Templars Arts & Leisure Centre, Tarbert, 17:00 to 21:15 (all walks)
