Kintyre Way Relay
Saturday 10th May 2008
Feast and Dance

Saturday 10 May, Tayinloan Village Hall, starting 21:00, or immediately after the presentation.

Bring race-day to a close in style! This is a celebration not only for the runners and walkers who have taken part, but also for their families, friends and supporters, and for all the marshals, timekeepers, first-aiders and medics who are an essential part of the Kintyre Way Relay.

Food will be a buffet spread with a wide variety of savoury and sweet dishes, including local seafood specialities. Eat as much as you like - put back those lost calories!

Drink. This is not a licensed premises, but soft drinks, teas and coffees will be freely available. You are welcome to bring your own drinks (beer, wine, etc) and you can buy these locally up to 17:30 on Saturday at Tayinloan Village Store or at Muasdale Stores (3½ miles south of Tayinloan).

Dancing will be a mixture of traditional Scottish ceilidh-dancing (Gay Gordons, Strip the willow etc) and some more modern stuff (60s – 90s). Live music from a real ceilidh band.

Ceilidh is not only about dancing. When the dance band takes a break, we will have the cool sounds of the Meri Wrightson Jazz Quartet, plus some songs from local performers. If you’d like to join in, bring along your guitar or whatever.

Tickets £10. It is advisable to book in advance (e.g. pay at same time as race entry).
